Taking photos of small moving items such as bees isn't as easy as one would expect.
Managing to get close enough for the photo without scaring them off is the hard part.
Casting shadows over the subject is another thing to be mindful of.
As you move in to take the photo, blocking the direct light is the best advantage position with the lens but the worst for exposure.
Macro photography is something that as time goes by, I will get more and more involved with.
These three images were all taken with the 2x lens converter fitted.

Lovely photos Mick:) bees move so quick and the other day to get 1 good photo I had taken 118 photos. Thank goodness for digital as I was able to delete them afterwards.
Very nice photos Mick! The bees look like they are having a sleep on a soft bed of pollen.
Plenty of bees as well as birds to photograph at this time of the year, gives the cameras a workout.
The bees were busy and probably wanted to have a sleep at the end of the day. It wasn't easy to get in close enough without waking them up/
