Hogwash Bend Sunset.

Bright sunset at Hogwash Bend South Australia. This one was taken early evening during a weekend stopover at the river side location.

Wallaroo Sunset.

While visiting Wallaroo South Australia last weekend, we were privileged to see this sunset over the main shipping wharf.

Ayres Rock.

Ayers Rock is located in the lower part of the Northern Territory some 280 miles or 450 kilometres southwest of Alice Springs and is the world's largest monolith.

These two photos were both taken from the same viewing station at different times of the day. This particular one was taken during the middle of the afternoon while the photo below was during the very late afternoon.

The viewing area that they were taken from is called the "Sunset viewing Area". When we were there on this day, we were totally amazed how the tourist behaved to try to capture what they thought was going to be a good photo of the rock.




As the setting sun goes down, the rock becomes a photographers paradise with the changing colours. For a while, the rock starts to glow red as the sun sets in the western sky.

This particular photo was taken while there was still some light shining on the top half of the rock creating the red effect. After seeing this spectacle during a good sunset, the next thing to see would be the water running off of it during a thunderstorm.

Gawler Ranges & Beyond - Part Five.

With our three days touring the Gawler Ranges, this allowed us to camp in our tents for two nights. This sunset was during our first night with the second night although not as colourful as the first night, it was still nice to watch the sun setting.












The surrounding colours of the campground and the red dirt made way for great photos as the sun started to shine on our second day.











This was our second night camping under the stars. It was a matter of finding a bush track that took us away from the main road to an isolated location where there was only us and nature to enjoy it. The other requirement of course was fallen timber for our campfire at night.

Ramco Boat Ramp.

The Ramco Boat Ramp is located a few kilometres north of Wakerie along the River Murray in South Australia.

This one shows the golden glow created late in the afternoon just before sunset.

Fire In The Sky.

After six hours of steady rain during the day today, the sky started to break up just before 5.00pm to allow the clouds to make the sky look as if it was on fire.
